technical design
a lightweight construction that would create visual space around the new mezzanine. a space saving, compact bridge structure was designed giving head height to the new level.
the programme included artists studio, bedroom, guest shower, as well as defining the kitchen area and new master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe.
the existing ceiling was not original and had been modified at some point in the past during the building’s conversion. we retained the decorative ceiling adding character to the new space.
the client was guided through landlords permissions and we met with residents to reassure them of the building works and methods. a full building specification was developed and the project was tendered.
